Today was Communion at our church. I often make the bread for our Communion. If you have never made Communion Bread, remember that it is an opportunity to show Christ your faithfulness. Do not hurry over it. Bake it with a merry heart and with a glad spirit. This is also a wonderful way to celebrate the communion with your family. Here is a wonderful, old-fashioned recipe for Communion Bread:
2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 cups water
2 Tbl. honey
1/2 teaspoons salt
2 Tbl. oil
Mix together wet ingredients. Add wet mixture to flour and knead together a few times. Roll out to 1/8 inch thick. Place on greased cookie sheet. Score into about 1 inch squares. Bake at 400 degrees about 15 minutes. In the first minutes of baking, prick bubbles that may form.
