When we bought our home in the mountains on a bluff overlooking the small town of Harlan, Kentucky, the yard was seriously overgrown. Having sat empty for two years, the yard had been neglected.
Little did I know that within a month’s time, as Spring came my yard would be filled with hundreds and hundreds of beautiful flowers. From daffodils to lilies, to tuplis, to peonies and more everywhere you looked were blossoms galore. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
Since then we have worked hard to remove the overgrown bushes, the weeds, and have planted hundreds of new plants. We are not nearly done! It will be years before the yard is back to its orginal glory. But until then, we will enjoy planting, and weeding (ha!), and designing the garden of our dreams…
Carve out your own garden space. Whether you live in a small, town apartment or a rambling farm house, you need to surround yourself with beautiful living things. Be blessed by God’s handiwork!
