Tell us a little about yourself.

Hello! I am 26 years of age, single, and no kids. I work as a Social Worker for my county of residence. Im big sister to two younger sisters. I enjoy being single for now and after bad relationships and pointless relationships I've decided to be patient in God and know that he will bless me with a Christian man that I deserve when I'm ready to receive him. I serve on the Adolescent Parenting Program, CADA Early Head Start Policy Council, Order of the Eastern Star, and North Carolina Social Services Association. Prayerfully, I will get accepted into A & T University's Teaching Fellows Program and I will be a teacher 2-3 years from now!!!

What is your favorite Bible Verse?

"Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10...because my weakness in life is worry and being impatient. I am learning to depend on God 100%

What is your favorite book?

The Bible/ The Book

What is your favorite homemaking task? Why?

Decorating for the holidays. I am single, so there's not much to do in my home, but I just enjoy decorating.

After losing my father in '03, I became very sick. I developed stomach ulcers and picked up something called worrying. I encounter problems in school, it caused problems with the relationship with my mother and her boyfriend. After losing my dad, my mom turned on me when I was at a weak point, for her sufficient other, but I God was on my side looking back. I was very angry and short-tempered. There were days where I would just cry and lay in the bed from physical pain and emotional hurt. I was very close with my father and I blamed myself for not spending time with him for being selfish in my goals, that I wasn't there to push him to get help or to go to his doctor's visits. I continue to suffer from ailments associated with stress, from skin diseases, emotinal breakdowns, major weight loss, etc. I want my life to be peaceful. I'm tired of medication after medication to function and I believe it is possible to obtain that, through Christ. Through prayer and spiritual growth I am learning to forgive myself and others, to be slow to anger, and put my trust in God and know that he will always have my back!!! God has healed the relationship between my Mother and I, I have a job, my own place, and through God's grace alone I manage to pay bills each month, truly a miracle!!! I feel myself getting better each day and handling life much better.

Do you have any prayer requests?

I want to purchase a home in the near future, be debt-free, get accepted into A & T University's Teaching Program, and most importantly continue to grow as a Christian and serve God!!!

At 3:46pm on February 27, 2009, Heather K said…: i know how you feel i have alot of friends who are married. but i will tell you that this group is also for girls who are dating (or courting) also. because i am dating a young man myself. but don't let that info discourge you from being a member of the group. we can still encourge each other and when the time caomes when you meet a nice young man that catches your eye you can get advice and encourgement from the group about it. also i will be putting a blog on there about whats going on in my life here real soon. so when i do feel free to comment on it and/or put your own blog on there about whats going on in your life. have a blessed day April. ^_^
