Well, looks like God has answered (some of) my prayers. Mum as you may remember died last year, and my brother is suffering from liver cancer. But..........he bought me a super man to marry (next year) AND a new nephew!!! Can't wait to see him -...

Well, at the risk of sending judgemental, I would reread the verses about Love in the Bible - what LOVE is (and what it isn't). I hope you find good counsel there. Beverley

I, too, second the motion of the book titled Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl. It is astounding, but I agree also with Tina, it needs a warning..... DO NOT READ THIS if you are thinking this is going to be a nicey nice book for you.... It...

I just asked my husband how well I do at submitting and he says "not bad" :D I used to have a problem back in my self-centered days. But now I think about who has to answer for what and I do not want the responsibilities that are given to the husb...

I believe the Bible teaches about submission but I believe that God wants us to fully submit only to Him. I believe that there is submission in marriage but a woman is not her husbands slave. I think there has to be respect added to the submission...

hmmmm...hmmmm I need to reread my article. I don't think I give more credibility to either side. My sentiments exactly being married doesn't necessarily make for a lack of loneliness (I believe I said that), nor does it make the single attractive woman any less lonely and vice versa. You can be married and lonely as well as single (unmarried) and
lonely. Thanks for posting I also was eluding to "fear" which ironically I'm hosting a free seminar tonight. Come join me http://www.robintramble.com/Teleseminarschedule.html

Thanks for your comments on my blog! We're all in need at one time, it's so refreshing to know that we're in a place where the Family of God takes taking care of each other seriously. That means the world to us. Thanks again!

Beverly, thanks so much for your comment!
You asked how I manage to be grateful all the time—I'm not. (LoL--sorry.) I'm just in the process of learning to quit complaining and to replace it with thankfulness. It means, for me, deliberately choosing to place my focus on God. Choosing to see, and concentrate on, how good God is.

In August I wrote 'Frequent Flyer Bonus' because I'd been doing a lot of whining. As I wrote (I learn best as I write, LoL) I learned this: “You cannot be a rejoicing Christian if you're busy whining.” I felt like I'd been clobbered with an iron skillet—since then I've noticed just how true it is in my life—if I'm whining (at which I excel at. *yikes*) I'm not rejoicing.

I've had to make a conscious effort to change my thinking—and I'm happy to report, it's worth EVERY effort, and every bloody tongue I've given myself for biting my tongue!! Have I perfected it? Absolutely NOT! But I'm a work in progress, and God's promised to finish His work in me. (How cool is that?!)
Hugs!
Patty

Profile Information

Tell us a little about yourself.
I work outside home full-time and enjoy doing the housework when I can because it feels so different to do!! I've been living in Belgium for quite some time and have travelled out of a suitcase extensively so being home is pure luxury (and indulgence!!!).
What is your favorite Bible Verse?
Something like "Shine like stars in the universe" or something like that, in James!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if all God's women shone like stars??? (but perhaps we do :o)
What is your favorite book?
All Alexandra Stoddard's books
What is your favorite homemaking task? Why?
I really like doing the washing up - must be all the bubbles!!!
Share your testimony with us.
Since I have (seriously) met Jesus, I reckon that things become so much more proportionate. I like to think of the cross, and the decision he made between choosing the world and its values, and love and its values. And if I may, when all hell lets loose, (at work, at home,in society, in politics, I think about the cross and the choices we........could have made!
Do you have any prayer requests?
I pray that women everywhere remember to behave ........like God's women.
