Catching My Breath and Catching Up!

This past month has been a whirlwind for me. Dealing with family issues ( and I mean a lot of them!), illnesses, the passing of my Granddaddy, and then some traveling, it has been crazy for me. And, oh yeah, let's not forget about our homeschool!! Now that's a story in itself.

Now that the days are just about "normal'' again, I feel like I can get back to the mundane things of life. Isn't that funny? When things are mundane for so long, I want something to change, to bring some excitement into… Continue

I'm Back!!! With Some Ramblings...

I feel so out of touch with everything!! I've been so preoccupied with our homeschool, that my blogging journal is out of sync. But I'm back now, ready to share some thoughts.

Wow, where do I start? The busy-ness of life can get so... well, busy!! The last month and a half has been a blur. Changing routines from such a long school vacation was a little tough to get used to, but routines are good for us. We function so much better on a routine. But when the routine gets interrupted, thats when t… Continue

Our First Week Under Our Belt...Praise God!!

Well, I haven't blogged much in a while, due to planning and stressing, and planning some more for our homeschool year. Well, Praise God, we have a week under our belt and we all survived!! Yes, things are going to be different this year, and hopefully with God's help, will always be different. So, implementing these changes are making me more vulnerable to fears and doubts, but God is good and He will and is building my faith in Him and His ways. Like I've said before, "HIS WAYS ARE BETTEContinue

VISION~ Part 2~ Miracles!

Last night, my son asked me why people don't believe that miracles happen today. Why they believe that miracles aren't "for today". Of course, in my heart I was seeking the Holy Spirit to give me the right words to answer him. Well, my answer, (or better said, the Holy Spirit's answer) went like this: People in our culture don't believe in miracles "for today" because they simply don't look for them. Our way of life in this country is so easy that we "don't need God". The average American can go… Continue

God Is So Good, Again!!

Again, God is so good to me!! I had a chance to be a blessing to a friend the other day and what happened soon after? God used her to bless me tremendously in return!!! I was able to give her a baby changing table for her new foster baby that she is getting this week, and she ended up having a book that I've been wanting to buy for a really long time! God is so good! He worked things out so incredibly that it just boggles my mind. He knew that I really wanted that book and He worked it out toContinue

Profile Information

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a homeschool mom to two wonderful boys, ages 12 and 9. Married for almost 19 years to a loving and patient husband. I love the Lover of my soul, Jesus Christ and strive to please Him every day. My hobbies are reading, running and lifting weights for optimum health, finding ways to be frugal for my family, and simply relaxing and enjoying life!!
What is your favorite Bible Verse?
John 16:33 (Amplified) "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer! For I have overcome the world." And...
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
What is your favorite book?
The Hidden Hand by Mrs. E.D.E.N. Southworth and pretty much anything by Ted Dekker
What is your favorite homemaking task? Why?
I like to cook and come up with new meal ideas. I love recipes and trying to figure out healthy ways to cook old, fatty favorites! Why? Well, I love to eat!! I love food and desserts. Another favorite task is looking through store ads and finding sales to use with my coupons. It gives me excitement knowing that I got double for my money!!
Share your testimony with us.
I've been a born again believer since I was 17. I grew up making horrible choices as a teenager. But as I look back, I can see the "Hidden Hand" in my life and I am so grateful to Him!! My Heavenly Father has always been there, guiding me along, even in my darkest years. Now, He is teaching me about Holiness and growing in His Holiness and depending on His Holy Spirit for the growing process. I'm learning and seeing how I need Him so much. Even though I've grown all these years as a believer, I still have a long way to go!! I'm thankful for His Word and His Saving Grace for my everyday life!!

It just seemed like a better fit. Being a blog that is not from a very specific point of view, I felt like I could speak a bit more freely without opening myself up to controversy. Not that I plan on being controversial, just felt a bit more freedom. It just seemed right. My husband also suggested I start writing a book of our life, this may be a good starting point. I am keeping up with this one, as well. I love the encouragement I get from this site, so much inspiration . I also have family members that would not venture to a virtuous woman site, and ultimately would like my new blog to be used to encourage them, without being too "religious or good", for them. My kids don't like it when I post too much on facebook, so I was looking for another venue that would meet all the needs. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to add pics regularly and document my life a little more.Let me know if you start one, I would love to follow it!

Right now we are in a weird place due to the fact that all of the kids now are being schooled, four different levels, one being spec ed., along with the busyness of life. I am seriously considering going back to unschooling. LOL!! I do find however if I work my schedule things go much better.
